Since I'm starting to pull things off the jimny and things and have set m self up a under cover work space thought to my self, what does all good work shops need? And what do I have laying around to make it from? The answer was a parts wash down station. All up it cost me $2 because the tub I had was a little too small, So I found a good size one at bunnings. Now I'm not designing one to wash a whole axle just the little things that get greasy. Now for the build This is what I started with *A bucket/container *a window washer motor out of my charade *A switch *A power supply I screwed the window washer bottle to the bucket and drilled a hole just below half way so I won't be sucking In all the dirt and chunky bits from washing dirty things Then I mounted the squirter thing to the side of the bucket and pointed them down Then I mounted a switch to turn the motor on/off Action shot Now I'm just siliconing everything up and waterproofing all the electrics

Should last a while running 7.7 volts into it and all it is is a brushless motor spinning a propeller thing that forces the water/degreaser down the tube thinking tho I should add a little bit of mesh over the intake hole

I should have said pump/propeller not motor haha, I generally use CT14 which is pretty harsh and was wondering how the plastic parts would handle it

couldn't you have taken the pump off the bottle and attached that directly to the tub?

2 reasons I didn't. * having a separate tank with a small hole half way up the tub filters all the heavy particals that fall off what your cleaning * the tank is formed around the motor and with it having the impeller thing it wouldn't work just putting it in the side of the tub

awsome idea mate, the only thing that I would change is get rid of the washer jets and just have the 4mm dia hose spraying out the cleaner. The parts washer I use at work has a beast jet on it and its a pain in the cunce for rinsing shit off it just splatters everywhere. Instead of the washer just just use a paint brush to scrub the grease off and then the pump is just washing the last bits of shit off. Just my 2c worth. Other then that tops idea! Dave

cool idea dude! just be careful with what you use in it. most parts cleaners are metal for a reason. also, they have a "fuseable link" kind of thing in the lid hinge (another thing you dont have) In case whatever is in there catches fire, the hinge will shear and lid will slam shut... so either dont use any flammable degreaser in there (good luck) or be really really careful what you do and where you do it. and maybe have a fire blanket handy. would hate to see it catch fire, the bucket melt, and have you standing around with a nice pool of flames going everywhere (hate to think if pump was still going too! instant flame thrower!) oh and most of the switches are sealed to prevent sparks. awesome idea though! be careful! EDIT: not to rain on your parade, but you can get proper ones for quite cheap on ebay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BRAND-NEW-3- ... d11&_uhb=1

You can buy pretty good non-flammable non-irritant parts cleaner. We use it at work now, seems four 44gal drums full of flammable cleaners lying around the workshop wasn't a good idea. Problem with the non-flammable cleaner is it needs to be heated to work the best.
