Well I got to finally drive my Vitara for the first time in about 6 months and well.... A couple of things..

Cold start isn't very easy - I have to keep the key turned and hold the accelerator down a little for it to fire up
Down low there's no go - anything below 2500rpm is a struggle even with the pedal mashed to the floor then it's as if it go's oh hang on I can do this, and the power delivery is a little all over the place.

The ignition timing is spot on 10degree BTDC when cold. I didn't have a chance to check it when hot.

Would the TPS be affecting it. It was removed and not set back in it's original location.

How smooth does it idle? On some vits the TPS has an idle switch which should make contact at idle to tell the ECU. This should be setup

It idles very nicely and revs freely, just when it's under load it kinda struggles.

This is the link I got my info from and I made a little video which is in the last post of what I did. http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... ilit=video
No rattles or clunking noises so I'm certain it's right.

pretty sure they use a wax pallet thing for the choke, maybe this isnt operating correctly? not sure if they can fail or not.
