If one of you guys know I would really REeeaaally appreciate the reply tonight/tomorrow morning as I was planning to go for a cheeky trip brunswick/collie this saturday morning! would be gutted if i didn't get to go!
STUPID ME!

For just a one day trip, any bolt that is long enough, with a matching nut. Too loose may rattle. Measure hole bolt goes through, to get correct bolt thickness. Get a bolt long enough to go thru shock and have thread sticking out for nut.

High tensile M12 60mm or 65mm long with spring washer under the nut.
Actual bolt looks like M12 fine 60mm with tapered thread and HD spring washer. See pics below.

Never seen a bolt with a tapered thread - pipe fittings yes - bolts nope.

To be quite honest, I've been curious about the length of the bolt, but as losfer says - the thread won't eat the bush if there's a crush sleeve. My GV has long bolts in that position, and so does my Pajero iO.

Sorry guys - didn't mean tapered as ones used on pipe fittings etc, meant tapered just that it has the last 3 or so millimetres of thread rounded off at the end to help locate the bolt through the hole - as seen in the pics. Excuse my grammar but what would you call this?
