So the ABS light on my 95 v6 vitara has been flickering on and off the last few months, now it is staying on 100% of the time. I stomped hard on the brake pedal and she does some killa skids, so my abs is not working as it should.

Last weekend I pulled the front wheels, calipers, discs and gave the whole lot a good dose of brake cleaner.....made the little abs sensors come up real shinny. I didnt touch the rears. Checked the 50A abs fuse under the bonnet and that is still all good, wiggled some wires around the master cyclinder and abs module, everything looks ok. The abs light is still on and abs not working.

Where to from here? is there a way to test the sensors? should i try cleaning up the rear ones? or would the computer have just stored the code and i only need to clear it to turn abs back on?

I would start by reading the code - primarily because it will tell you exactly what the ABS system thinks is wrong. Most of the time it's a failed "wheel sensor", but there other possibilities.

Most systems perform two different sensors tests at power up - the first is a simple resistance check to determine that the sensor is present, and the second test determines if the sensor is functional - the first can be done with an ohmmeter, the second requires an oscilloscope.
