Hey guys.

I couldn't really find a definitive answer anywhere to fix the v6 timing chain rattle does the whole timing assembly or can i just replace the hydraulic tensioner.

Also what else should be replaced while the front end is apart?

remove the tapatalk crap before you get a busride....

seeing you have to open the front of the motor up to get to the tensioner, you'd be silly not to do the chains.

i'd also do the front crank seal while you're there.

I'd say at a minimum, the tensioners, guides and adjusters - check the chains & sprockets for wear - and - whilst you're in there - perhaps the water pump and crank seal.

OK thanks for the info was planning on doing the water pump as well. How about camshaft seals might as well do them too hey.

I see they sell the complete kits with chains and every thing on eBay...good idea? Or better to get it all through suzooki?

eBay kit should be ok just confirm its a reputable brand.

ninjamoses and a few other on here have done this so i'm sure if you PM'd them they'd be able to give you a few pointers and let you know of any extra tools needed. definitely worth replacing cam and crank seals and the other things that have been previously listed it would suck to do all that work and have a seal fail.

shame offroadjack isnt here anymore to give you some help

Alibaba is a Chinese marketing agency - they manufacture nothing, but advertise products made by any Chinese company - the only sure thing you know is that the product is made in China and of undetermined quality - buy at your own risk.

Looking at that particular listing - it says minimum order 10 - also it says it's for a J18 and H20 - there's your first problem - the J18 has two single row chains, the H20 has three double row - still feel like taking the chance?
