went to go to bunnings and when i pulled up and came back to the car it started, shuttered and stalled, turnt it over again, started shuttered and stalled agine.

went to start again and it wouldnt, but had 1 good backfire.

jumped out and checked fuel pressure, spark and fuses, plenty of fuel pressure, fuses are fine ( i sprayed with wd40 then blew out with air compresser anyway, same with the plugs and leads) but had no spark.

didnt throw up any engine light when stalling, tho yesterday when i was driving to the beach it threw a engine light on for about 2 k's then went away

so i disconected the batterys and put the brakes on and turnt the car to start to try and clear any falt codes to try and make it home (mechenic mate i rang told me to do this) but still no spark but there is a wird clicking sound coming from this thing behind the fuel rail, looks like a round thing conected to a plate and has a eletrical plug coming off of it which looks like it goes to the coil packs.

just waiting on the old man to finish moving my sister then he is going to tow me home and ill take a photo of the thing making the clicking noise (sounds like a cricket.)

also i have changed out the cam sensor only a few thousand k's ago, has brand new leads, plugs, coil packs, and i washed the engine bay out yesterday afternoon after going on the beach so might of shorted out something ( has had over 12 hours drying time befor starting it after washing)

looked up on the service manual and it says to check/ clean/ replace the ckp sensor or ckp sensor plate or relace the ecm.... any idea where these are located/ look like?

a few weeks ago there was a thread on water in the coil packs etc... take a look there.

perhaps take all the coil packs / leads out so the spark plugs can get some air for a few hours (in the sun if its sunny over there).

seems a bit coincidental this is happening the day after you washed the engine bay.

Yeah probably something simple, always is

just tried starting it again, drove 2M then stalled and started making the ticking noise, so thinking something is just shorting out from being wet..... Love petrol engines....

you should try narrow it down to fix though - imagine being out wheeling, go through a puddle, engine bay gets wet and the same issue happens out in the middle of nowhere!

might be just a secondary fault code - IE. not the cause of the problem, just a second thing thats failed as a result....

obd readers wont work, you need to do the fault light thing with the paperclip, dunno how to do it on a g13
