Hi guy, How many guys with a 3 inch lift have experienced fall over? I am running 215 75 bf goodrich. Why is everyone with a jimny and a 3 inch lift have a rollcage? Does your jimny with a 3 inch feel top heavy,? Have you ever feel unsafe and felt like you are about to fall over? Thank you for all your help I really need some of your guys opinions , i am referig to the jimnybits 75 mm lifts. Is it wise to do a 75 mm lift for a daily ride? Thank you.

i have 55 mm, plus a 2" bodylift. untill recently i had a 70KG Hanibal impi hardcase camper on the roof of my jimny. with the camper on the roof it was pretty tippy and rocked around a lot on the road due to the soft as hell OME suspension, but you could feel it fairly well on the track and you knew your limits when driving on a incline. now the pods off and ive got 30x9.5s on and it feels awesome

I have the Jimnybits 3'" lift, Bugsta is the only person i know of that has some sort of a rollcage.
I used to run my car with stock rims and 215's and not once felt i was going to tip over, now i run 30's and -13 rims and hammer around corners with no concern.

Why would you run 215/75 tyres under a 3 inch lift?

215s will fit without any lift. And lifting your car 75mm won't be why it tips, it cause they use softer springs, and with the extra flex you get further up the track into the good section Your worried over nothing

I ran a 75mm lift with 215 as well. Wasnt tippy at all. Then i ran 30's with wide rims. Was stable as. I have rarely picked up a wheel. Atm im setting my jimny up with no lift at all with 30's. See how I go.

I am going to lift mine about 6" with a combo of tyres and springs but seeing as it will be a lot wider the cog should be close to stock

you'd have to be doing something either really serious, or seriously wrong to wind up needing a roll cage. on standard rims i guess your not going to be rock crawling over boulders up a washed out creek? not saying dont give it a go but where is it where your planing to go thats making you so paranoid? i was paranoid about tiping when i first took my jimny offroad just in the bush, as i was inexperienced and to a certain extent still am.
what i did to ease the nerves was go put it on a odd angle, pull on the handbrake, and get out and rock it. shake the car and feel the suspension and youl understand how stable it is from stock. then i put it on a bigger angle. i never tipped it but i did this a fair bit, in between geting in the car and seing how the angle felt from inside.
my mistake when first buying my jimny was rushing in and buying things before learning to drive itlike a jimny you can spend a lot of money early or you can upgrade once you find your limits. it just depends where you want to go, and if you have too much cash in your pocket.
a lot of cars here are projects, hobbys or toys. you maynot need to go to the extremes of what you see on auszookers. however in saying that its a great see the creame of the crop for inspiration once you get into it. and you will when you understand what that car can actually do, stock

i went 2'' with very heavy duty coils, as im only planning for 215's and carrying a fair bit of weight (thus the HD springs) its a bit of a pain around town, but in the next few weeks i will have an update in my build thread which will explain why i went the HD springs.

Thank you. I am more and more thinking about doing it and then lower the suspention as i go along if i dont like it. I have had my car since 2009, and did thing to it as i got the money.,its fabulous offroad and really love it and find it useless tospend money on it if i wont be ussing the mods, I finf my groundclearance a constant issue on every 4x4 trail i do. That is why i want the 3 inch, to gain articulation and to prevent my car bashing on its belly over rocky sections, but i dont want to be scared when doing some hill where my car will articulates, and feel like im about to fall over, i have some experience doing stuff and really have been driving my jimny offroad for some time, i have never felt unsafe on stock suspention ,i dint believe in doing risky things like attaching a hill or a downhill at angle that is not 90 degrees. Hope this explain my needs thanx

If you manage to put it on its side with a 3" lift, you probably will with no lift. You get a lot of warning signs before it'l go over.

i got 3" and 215's... nothing wrong with that config... why so much hate? Mine feels safe as houses and doesnt look retarded in any way with "small tyres" I think it suits it quite well and is nice and capable.
If you dont have a locker youll be spinning wheels before you have any worry of going over (most of the time) Look at my build thread if you want to see what it looks like a bit more

Why so much hate? Went the weekend to a guy who is reallly good with vehicle dynamics and have been into alot of extrem 4x4 challenges to discuss the manufacturing of custom radius arms for a 3 inch lift. So after what he said i decided to get myselfrather the caster correction bushes, But he said 3 inch is way too much, and he will do 2 inch on most . He also said that even on a land cruiser station wagon is 3 inch too much. So that is why i am so scared, he said if i want to take my offroad seriously then i should rather do 2 inch because when driving side dlopes on inclines on downhills it will be dangerous. So i am really just scared about tipping, So that is more or less what i am worried about, i purchased the 3 inch jimny coils from jimnybits , and its the diesel version,so it is apperently a little longer even than the pertol ones but i do have a bar and winch so hopefully it will bring it a little bit down. Hope this explain my concerns. Thank you.

You need to chill lol. You will be fine. Don't listen to that guy. If you are going to roll then your doing somthing you will know is a bad idea. Fit the lift and drive to your ability, learn how your Jim handles different situations, you will be fine. I have a 2inch lift ATM and am buying the 3 inch shortly. Just remember if it feels scetchy then it probs is. Enjoy you'll be fine

See link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0SjQKF_34AThanx will probily go through with the 3 inch This vid also scares me, seems unstable but wont be comfortable riding there, too risky. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tirv6O8RG7EThank you guys love the auszookers community very hardcore

More lift the better to a point. 3 inch isn't big at all for a cruiser it's pretty basic.

The problem was he wasn't in reverse. The car was sliding backwards, looks like he had a bit of right hand down, but due to locked wheels the slope took control.
