Ive just had locker put into the rear of my 2001 GV and i purchased some LSD Diff oil which was used.

My questions are;

I want to change the oil in the front diff, and I dont have a service manual.... ive heard that once youve removed all the old oil, that you put the bottom plug back in and fill untill the oil starts to come out from the top hole.. and thats the point you fill to...... does that sound right ?

second question...... should i just use the same LSD oil, or should i keep that for future flush of rear with lockright in it.. and just use a generic diff oil ?

That is the right way to fill diff oil.
Good quality diff oil is best, whatever is recommended by Suzuki.
I don't understand the benefits of using lsd oil.

If your car is lifted, its a good idea to point car uphill for filling front diff,
gets better coverage of the pinion.

Before draining the oil, take the fill plug out, saves finding out later its stuck fast

LSD oil is fine if that's what you have.

There's a TSB on front diff oil levels in the early GVs - depending on which diff housing is fitted, you may need to lift the front of the vehicle to get the required amount of oil in.

Strictly speaking, there is no benefit to using an LSD oil in a standard diff, there's no harm either - so if it what you have handy, you can use it. The difference is essentially in the additive package, LSDs require higher levels of EP (extreme pressure) additives - so you're looking at a GL5 oil rather than a GL4.

I use MobilOne full synth in everything and be done with it - that way I don't have to keep multiple grades of oil on hand.

100% correct, it's stated in the instructions too.

My thinking is thicker oil could slow the function of auto lockers.
Lsd oil could be thicker?
So I do not use it,
but I have no lubrication training.
Not sure why ARB say not to use it.

the old manly style lockers the instructions said to use lsd oil
