Did it come out of the engine you're trying it fit it into? When you say 'nipple' do you mean the extended part of the shaft below the cam gear? the G16A 8V dizzys do have those but if the engine has a G13 dizzy housing then it won't fit as the shaft on the G13 dizzy stops at the bottom of the cam gear.

It actually came out of a g16b and then I tried another distributor in the engine then I went to put this one back in and it wouldn't go back in weird . Yes the extended shaft is what I'm talking about ! Do g13 distributors fit?

I must have confused the two, I do recall having to swap the dizzy housing when I did the 1.6 conversion. I'm sure you're right as I think it was the 1.3 dizzy that I ran originally.

the second part of the part number starts with 83xxx which is always sierra , vitara use 60a or 61a or another combination for the efi part numbers . and the vitara dizzy doesnt have that extra bit of shaft after the drive gear .
also the vitara just uses a 2 pin socket . the dizzy in the pic has wires that connect to the coil and a seperate wire on the negative that goes to the tacho .

also the reason you had to swap the dizzy housing is because the vitara camshaft is about 10mm shorter than the sierra camshaft
