i just got my stock carby rebuilt and normal city driving all seems fine but take her for a run on the highway and she struggles over 80km/h.
foot to the floor kick down kicks in and revs like crazy but no up and go.

any ideas?

Who rebuilt it?

If it was a shop, take it back and say its worse than when you gave it to them.

I'll have to have a good look. but if idle and timing are perfect how would a vacuum line cause this problem??

The secondary throat on the carby is vacumn operated so if the line is not connected properly it won't work.

I spoke to the rebuilder and said it could be something to do with the secondary and I can't get into to see him for 3 weeks.
I've bought some new vacuum hose and going to replace all and hopefully check if its all are in the right spots on the weekend.

Fingers crossed. Thanks for all the help people

He said I could come in next week but his 1st year apprentice was looking after the place... Family business so I can understand being a self employed person myself. He was quite willing to look and fix it but I just can't get there by tomorrow :(

ok I've replaced all the hoses with new ones and the 3 hoses the come from there dizzy, the charcoal canister and the TSV?? were the wrong way round on the carby end. hopefully this fixes the issue with my high lack of speed.
Illl book it in with the rebuilder to make 100% sure i have plumbed it all right and get him to tune it all properly.

thanks for you help guys
