HI all.
I happened to chance upon this site:
http://f-o-a.com/calculator.html
I wanted to do a dual setup on my 03 grand vitara. 2L 4drs. Front IFS had been converted into SAS.
I encountered a problem in obtaining some figures for calculator input.
Below are the measurements i took:
17 inches 1. Wheel travel
730 pounds 2. Sprung weight of each applicable vehicle corner
40 inches 3. Pivot to lower shock mount distance (D1, D3, or D5)
40 inches 4. Pivot to end of suspension arm or tire centerline (D2, D4, or D6)
60 percent 5. Desired droop travel
5 degrees 6. Shock angle from vertical (in degrees)
Calculated single spring rate 72lbs/inch.
Calculated dual spring rate primary 121lbs/in secondary 183lbs/in
Does this figure sound right? I rem the spring rate for a 4 dr vitara is about 400lbs/inch. Seems like a bit far from my results.
