Anyone ever tried any products from RS manufaturing from the UK? . I tried a search but it drops RS , so you get everything "manufacturing"

Something seems a bit flaky to me. I'm not sure when they are reselling other peoples stuff, building their own, or whether they really have anything to sell at all really. Looks like a bit of a dreamer.

Copying a bunch of photos off the internet of "cool" cars isn't a great start. As an example, on their "roll cage" page, they seem to have used a photo of an Avalanche Engineering Sniper chassis from the late 90's or so. I wasn't able to find the same photo quickly, but the chassis sure looks like a sniper to me.

That makes me suspicious, and makes me wonder how much of this stuff they really done.

Pricing seems a bit hopeful too. $140 for a full float axle (albeit in a non-specified material) seems unlikely, regardless of material, especially considering the cost of living in the UK.

Just my 2C. The ideas look sound, but they are all stuff we've seen before, just in less detail and for less money.

Thats largely the impression I get , however have not heard of the shassis you mention so know idea there . I came across there site a while back searching full floater kits and dismissed them . However a mate sent me the link today and had a good option on shipping .
There is some info but not enough detail to order anything . He has resoponded to an email just now pretty promptly but I am still not convinced so was after any feed back etc .
$140 an axle is only a little cheaper than what I could get them made here out of run of the mill chrome moly , think thats what there ones are . But then there web site says special order for chromemoly or 300m . Give up I think .

Chromium-Molybdenum is not 'run of the mill'. 1XXX series carbon steels are 'run of the mill'.

So I would expect to pay more for the materials, and more in labour to make the axles, as CRMO is a harder steel, takes longer to machine, and is harder on tooling. 300M would be even worse.

At that price get some made. Making an axle is easy. Making it right is another story.

And I laugh when people offer zook size axles out of 300m as I bet they are not made correctly.

RS have been around a long time and make a lot of the tcase gearsets and parts for the US companies. As I understand it its still a one man band and he tends to be difficult to get hold of as hes always busy, the only thing that I've had from him was my 1.6 adapter plate and I didn't have any issues but it was some time ago. The website has never been great.

My Full float kit is one from RS, the previous owner of the axle that has them fitted used to race comp safari and give it hell for years with a welded rear diff, I think he bought the shafts back in 2005/6 and broke two lock-rights while running them. The shafts are still perfect.

The only problem he ever had were the bolts holding the adapters on shearing halfway through a race, so he welded them on like you guys do with your full float kits.

I've been thinking of getting a full float kit from these guys, so did a bit of research a few months ago. Comments I found were that they can be hard to get hold of on the phone, slow to reply to emails, and at times have really slow production times.

I had read on another forum, possibly pirate, about the shearing bolts mentioned above, but this may have been the same car. Other than that I couldn't find too many negative comments.

Due to a lack of funds I never ended up contacting them.
