there was a huge detailed thread on mudrhino in regards to how to make "new style" arb lockers more reliable

Basically the things you need to know and this is what a engineer guy from ARB said was

1. lift your right foot before hitting the air lockers, crash locking under power will chew out the engagement gear, the engagement gear is basically the weak point, spidertrax gears will just destroy more of the diff
2. Run a 150psi pressure switch on your arb compressor, this will help engage the engagement gear quicker before the engine torque hits and this is covered by arb warrenty also
3. if your experiencing oil in your lines this is mainly due to your diff breathers block or possible from water in your diff which causes foaming

Finally got around to completing the install of my Air Locker. I had the locker itself installed a mth or 2 ago but been on holidays.
I didn't have any room under the bonnet, so I've mounted it in the rear cargo area and mounted the switches in the centre Console..... Did a little test down that paddock and all worked OK..... Just have to go for a bit of a explore somewhere and give it a bit of a workout......

i have air leakers in the jeep never had an issue with the rear the front is a bit dicky it sprays oil on the underside of my bonnet upon release and has to pump additional air into it every 10 mins or so as it leaks. also sometimes the compressor wont shut off when i turn the front locker on and i have to disengage/re-engage to get the compressor to shut off (however i have had no structural issues and thats running 35" bias ply tyres)

Bit of a noob question but can you run a air line off them as we'll to pump up tyres ect?

yes but it will kill the compressor in no time flat i have a mate that works at arb and does just that and has killed like 3-4 compressors but get a new 1 for next to nothing so does not care

That is how they are installed, The pumps have a good warranty and i haven't heard much about the systems failing especially in regard to the solenoid system for the lockers.

my rear locker just started leaking >_< having some diff issues when turning but it seems to involve the locker somehow.
the faster i drive, the more the compressor has to "top up" the resevoir to keep the locker engaged so figure its the "quad ring" (technical term) for the new locker style. which is viton by the way (higher wear resistance and temperature resistance)
I will be pulling this out over the next few nights and if I remember i will post up some pics or make some coments.

Could be your crown wheel slightly touching the copper line or could be your seal housing ring.

My Chinasoong locker came with O rings seals fitted.
But also came with a set of what I assume is X ring seals.
The O-rings leaked a lot, so fitted the X rings and leaking was very much reduced.
