Unfortunately I dont have the facilities to make my own or cut one up. and im sure im not the only one? maybe someone here has done a few now and wants to earn some money? all valid point of discussion

Depends what style you want...
The ARB/ECB/TJM ones come up second hand every now and again. The LWB and SWB bars are the same shape, just different brackets to mount them. 2.0L should be the same too.
Otherwise you could get a tube bar custom made, should be somewhat cheaper than the retail sheet metal options.
What's your definition of cheap?

as i said, good luck with that... have you seen how many wanted ads come up for vitara bars vs vitara bar's for sale? they're not that common & are pretty sought after. you do the math.

If you get a second hand one for $500 you're doing well. That's what I paid for mine, and I've rarely seen them cheaper.
You've said yourself - at least $1200 new...

X2
An unfortunate side effect of zook owners being tight arses is not many things like this got bought in the first place and there's always a bunch of people after secondhand stuff.

Ive just been through the excersise of trying to find a near fit bar to mod for my SWB Resto Vit. I found the best bar, fit wise, was the 75/79 series Toyota. Width is almost perfect, front shape is almost perfect, the wing size is, almost perfect too - Where it is totally crap is in the hoops. They would need to be cut off and new ones put on. I looked at the Tigerz11 delux bar for $888 which would be really nice with the driving lights and led indicators. Problem is, there is just too much in the way of loop and would require a whole lot of cutting and filling. And you would need to cut the mounting brackets off and make new ones. In the end it's just too much work. So I've ordered the $1150 ARB one. I'll see about trying to fit dricing lights, but at least I now know it will fit.
