codes didn't clear & since I've had a computer rebuild & lost my manual can someone post a pic of where the air intake temp sensor thingie will be found & I guess it should be replaced

thats the first time i've heard of them not clearing by disconnecting the battery.

IAT is in the top 1/2 of the air box near the strut top.

if you have an alarm with a backup battery it may be providing a tiny reverse current - enough to keep the volitile memory in the ecu in tact.

try holding your foot on the brake to burn that residual power out of the system.

The codes would have cleared, the IAT is checked on power up so the ECU is telling you that you still have a fault, High means that it is disconnected or has failed open circuit. I will have a look for the other codes, 46 may be a knock sensor fault.

In answer to the earlier comments about OBD2 v EOBD:

EOBD and OBD2 are in this case the same, OBD2 and EOBD are specifications that include a lot of stuff as well as diagnostics. In the case of the 2006 Suzukis until CANbus they use the same protocol ISO14230-4. The -4 is the subset of KWP2000 originally specified by OBD2 which is also called up by EOBD. I've looked at a few Suzuki ECUs and they return a different header to the one sent by the tool, I don't see anything in the spec. that mandates the return header but clearly some tools expect to see the equivalent of what they sent. The main dealer tools all use an OBD1 protocol, also based on KWP2000, as they allow access to additional data and controls.

Left my battery disconnected last night to fully charge the battery & by this morning I was left with only one code on the computer

OK so as far as I can see there is no knock sensor on the 2000, H25. What would be wrong in the circuit??? It's like its dropping spark or flooded, soon as you lift & nail it it runs fine again for a bit. Ideas please as I lost my manual when my fuggen computer died a month ago. Cheers

Well I didn't reply to your last post as I wasn't aware of an H25 with a knock sensor but models can vary between markets. Someone had a scanner, can it do live data? if not do you know anyone with an oscilloscope who can look at the spark waveform? Otherwise a cheap DMM will allow you to check the TPS and temperature sensors, the FSM is here:

is it doing it at light load or when it's labouring? from a stationary take off?

have you pulled the coil packs to inspect the probes for spark jump & tracking marks?

checked to see if you've got an oil leak from the spark tube plug o'rings?

have you pulled the spark plugs?

i'd be starting with the basics & work from there.

Have replaced the plugs last week, it does it usually at light to moderate throttle, I have six spare coils so I might change the lot in the morning & see what goes.

fucking totally dead o2 sensor... put an old one inthat had cold start issues

7 it's running great bagain.... new o2 sensor will be here from 4wd parts on monday... still has that stupid fucking code 17 showing though.
