on my 92 sierra the crank pulley is hitting the timing belt cover, I have replace the cover with a new one and still have the same issue. Has anyone got an idea what the issue could be? the timing belt cover seal is in all the way and all the bolts are tight, I am out of ideas

There is a spacer that holds cover in right position, it can get easily missed, or worn.

Is the crank pulley pulley wobbling, ie loose, or its keyway worn?

The pulley isn't wobbling and is tight, what is the spacer you are talking about? I am sure its been doing it since I got the car, but it got worse after I removed the cover to do the timing belt. I never removed the timing pulleys its the one for the fan belt.

Sorry, I had my wires crossed.
Its common for the timing belt to hit the cover,
or the timing belt pulleys, when the covers out of line.
Not heard of it catching on the fan belt pulley before.
But it has to be pulley, or cover in wrong spot, or out of shape.

Is there any end float in the crank shaft? (Try to push and pull crank shaft forward and backward)
I have seen a falcon with about 5-6mm.

Theres no end float however I think its my pulley that is warped, using a rule across the pulley to the alternator pulley its about 3mm out then turn it 180° and its out the other way. I will buy a new one and let yous no if that fixes it

One other question, do the maruti covers fit sierras? I got one off eBay and the tensioner bolt that goes through the case is too short for the case, but I managed to make a longer one, just not sure if there is any other differences is the cases.
