Hi There,
In its current form it wouldnt be registerable in QLD.
But there are reversible mods you could do to get it registered and most just bolt off/on.
Hmm.. im no engineer, so this is opinion..
To get it regoed again 'I think' the following would probably be needed:
1) Unbolt the exo roll cage
2) The rear shocks have been repositioned to give better off road articulation, so re welding shock mounts and repositioning would be the biggest job.
3) You may need to remove the winch bar and fit a standard bumper (I have one).
Tires are good, exhaust seems good enough for RWC
The difflockers are switchable so no issue.
You would have to touch up paint and maybe fit full length doors (I have some I may consider for sale).
Then of course the maintenance repairs.. fix the transfer case bearing or put another case in (I have one I can sell)
Then fix the CV clicking issue (Its not really the CV at fault, but difficult to explain. Anyway I have CVs on shafts modified as direct replacements for sale as well).
It still has the road seatbelts fitted in addition to the harnesses.
So yes, reverting it would be doable if you really wanted to and the guy I bought it from had it on the road and modified it over time, but in its current modified state it wouldnt be legal on the road.
But the real fun in a LJ is OFF road and you would soon find yourself reinstalling everything

Like you said, this car was made for FUN. So not intended for commuting to work. (Unless you are lucky enough to work on a large farm).
This is very good value and although a bit scruffy, the mods alone are probably worth the asking price.
cheers,
Gerard.
