Just yeaterday my car started to rattle r
eally loud. when its out of gear and i rev it its fine, but when driving and changing gears its really lud and sounds like its grinding even when its in gear. Hopefully wont need a new gear box?

Took the car to the mechanics and found what the problem was.
It wasnt the transmission it was my universal joint in my drivshaft.
so im up for a new drivshaft :x

Better a new driveshaft than a new gearbox ;)

yep had this happen recently to.. out of curiosity.. was it the input shaft uni!?? mine was.. the C clip decided to go awol, and the uni cap tried doing the same.. lucky the gearbox had a different idea and stood its ground...while copping a grinding.. ouch :(

I put the new uni in and noticed a lil bit of slack once the clips were in so im going to have to tear it out soon and swap it for the WT one iv got sitting as a spare...

fwiw if one has gone.. its probably adviseable to replace the rest of em ;)

Sorry mate, i have no idea what the difference is, im not all that mechnical only had a car for 4months :)

But its around 400mm
