Did not see that there was a "Noob" section, turns out this is my specialty.

Shackles... Does anyone sell OEM ones? Mine are rooted, pins rusty and turning, holes egg shaped and just old really. I have found greaseable ones that look pretty stock, are they as good or better? I don't want lifted ones, just standard height and don't want bling bling flash looking branded ones. I want the truck to look pretty much stock.

Flares... I would like bigger than the standard NT flares but don't like how the WT ones look after getting dented and smashed. A plastic equivalent would be great. Can you get them? I don't want massive 4" of flare, 2" would be fine, don't want bush whackers or anything to bling blingy again. Suggestions?

Rock sliders... Would box section sills (will probably have to do this for rust anyway) handle the odd rock or two? The truck is not going to get wheeled hard, more of a off road, get to remote places, camper really but can 3mm box section sills replace rock sliders? They would give more clearance.

I will definitely have more questions before I am done, so might become a "Noob" forum regular!

Yes you can get aftermarket flares, but they are almost always 4" or wider. You could track down some 88WT flares, as they are plastic.

yes, you can cut out your sills and replace with RHS/SHS. Its a common mod. 3mm will be fine for most applications, and clearance should be similar to what you have now. if your sills aren't too rusty, and you don't want the many hours of cutting, grinding, and welding rice paper suzuki panels, buy a set of these..... http://www.twinstickoffroad.com/products/Rock-Sliders.html

A bit out of my budget at the moment but those sliders are beautiful in a tough zuk kind of a way. Nice!

Online Auto Part's, where I have been getting a lot of my suzuki rebuild stuff, don't sell them as... "we do not supply greasable shackles - they are too small to make as greasable - they become too weak and are prone to failure."

Have seen the same thing with U-joints. Turns out if you drill a hole through them to make them greasable they become too weak.

I guess I found some anyway .

Can't find them on the Clark Rubber website but I got the flares below from CR,





Sliders can be made from 3mm flat plate that has been bent 90 degrees and pop riveted on, assuming underlying body is strong enough.

x2 on these I had the local steel place bend mine up and it was very cheap. I've put the rubber strip a NT sierra has on the sill over the top to cover the rivets, looks 100% factory. If you sills are rusty its a good option, I painted the body and the inside of the slider and then covered both in cavity wax so rust shouldn't be an issue either, and sealed the top and vertical slides with sikaflex.
