Im thinking about these law and as long as you can get this engineered i can't see a problem with it. Im thinking about doing this and a full RUF on my lwb but try to keep it about standard height. Do un pinned 3/4 elliptic pig root wores than whacky shackles? How much longer are foroza springs, 10inches i think, is the axle placement in the center and are they 50mm wide. I only heard about this mod, but after doing a ruf im pretty keen to try some longer leaves in the rear :D do you need to run control arms with an elliptic? and why is it called an elliptic?
these are from the builds of GRPABT1 and zookprojectfnq

once the dust has settled, and depending on which way things go there will be two outcomes. firstly it may return to the old system (or the original ncop gets fast tracked), secondly, if it does not you will find lifting a max of 50mm is the least of the problems. talk is of vehicle specific suspension only, this means no mixing and matching from other vehicles, when you have a 'standard' aftermarket system fitted it will come with relevant documentation stating part numbers and compliance details. its best to keep up the fight and wait to see exactly what happens. many people think the large companies are not involved, but they could not be farther from the truth.

I think the vehicle specific thing would be more hassle then it's worth for the authorities. Imagine getting pulled up and having the cop/transport dude trying to shuffle through a thousand sheets of paper to identify what parts are what.

"Sure that's a Suzuki part, prove otherwise" I don't care, they have to prove fault not the other way around and there are billions of parts out there will no serial numbers. How can they prove anything.

and when aftermarket parts have been painted over, or you use different stock parts from another vehicle. i think that it would be pretty hard for them to prove that a part did not belong in a certain place.

best bet to find details is to post up in the froza bit of outers.

as long as the spring aren't stupid soft it shouldn't hop or just make up another track bar and that will stop hopping and axle wrap.

Pretty full on conversion , for not much more drivability , not to mention correct setup , long wheel bases usually have good flex with aftermarket suspension , maybe some lockers would be better , Cheers Paul.

MART: yeah im looking to keep it super low, i have a front welded center and an auto lokka for the rear so im already locked up. My flex (on a ramp) is crap and im just trying to think outside the box... I ran 50mm lift springs in the last zook and i hated them they were stiff and all up crap, they were a good brand too. Yes i took off my shocks to test the flex...

tanshi: how much longer than the OE rears are the cj fronts?

brett: will do. BTW if my truck passes blue slip im driveing it up to your joint. woop woop

joeblow: that would rule out an sas then hey?

becuase i live in mexico, we can do all sorts of goodies....(for the moment!)

please forgive me for trying to sway you away from doing something that will not pass after august the 1st. like i said, it will be 'type' specific suspension requiring a certificate from the kit manufacturer or installer.

so what your saying is that we can't get suzuki carry van springs and do that stuff nemore, what about coil conversions? How much power do engineers have now can they pass something outside these guidelines? Is the australia government more concerned about money in there pocket or australians health and saftey? rant

well, the vsi 50 law has been put on hold for now as of yesterday. BUT, i doubt whether an engineer will pass such a setup after this scare. this law has nothing to do about money, but more so ignorance.
