gday guys, im new here and search wont work on my phone, im probably doing the proverbial
im installing 4:1 gears into my transfer case, with unlocked diffs and small tyres,
does anyone think its worth spending money on a transfer cradle or is this mild enough to suffice for the normal mounts?
also do you need a press to remove the bearings or can you just use a puller?

I ran 4.16 and bent the long side mount. Reinforced with some scrap steel im still using it. Its been used with 4.16, 5.14 and 6.5.


I recommend a press and puller.

ok thanks, so the mount wasnt replaced, just welded/reinforced? i might try running it as is, if it bends ill reinforce it.
hopefully a bearing puller and some improvistation will work haha.
