ARB have offered me a bullbar at $1300 instead of $1660 because the manufacturer dropped it and it has this dent They will spray it first Wondered if people thought it was a good idea? It doesn't bother me too much as long as it as structurally sound as it was, and $360 is a reasonable saving. But I wanted to see what people (since I know nothing) thought.

i'd tell them to keep it or offer more discount... $360 isn't a great deal for something they'll struggle to offload, tell them you'll take it for 1k

Id pay $500. I wouldn't pay 1k. I reckon they are double dipping though- the freight agent should cover that under insurance unless the numptys at the ARB store accepted it damaged. ( which they probably did, which is why they are asking a fortune for it.)
It's really just cosmetic though. I'd run it on my car, but only becaus I don't care what my car looks like.

Yeah the more I thought about it as the day went on, the more I wondered on the savings offered. They told me they don't do zooks often and had to order my bar from Melbourne, also said they'd never tried to put diff breathers on a GV. So I was thinking the discount wasn't much. This has confirmed my suspicion, plus my girl would prefer a new one, I'll offer them $500 and if that's not cool I'll just get a new one.

But I wanted to see what people (since I know nothing) thought. Why is the bar so expensive to start with? What car is this for? EDIT: I'm assuming it's for a GV? To put it in perspective, I thought this was a jimny... My mate had an ARB bar supplied and installed for $1,000 flat (if I remember correctly) from an ARB dealer in Sydney... Having said that though, a Jimny isn't a GV

Looks the same as my bar which, from memory, cost $1800 through a suzuki dealer. Money well spent as it meant I didn't have to deal with ARB knobs.

Shep, you might be able to answer this one, do the GV's have diff breathers that raise up into the body/engine bay or are they povo like the sierra's? disco wrote: also said they'd never tried to put diff breathers on a GV.

Nothing they say they probably can't do them, they want to look at the car first.

Hmmm. I went in there today, was quoted 270 dollars for a DMAX, went into OL and was quoted 250 by sikid01. Just some ballparks, maybe see steve if ARB is full of it.

Yes rob it's for a new grand vitara, 2010 model Darwin suzuki gives me the shits. I bought the GV from Adelaide after Atari checked it out for us. My jimny I bought in Darwin and I reckon I have worked out how to deal with them. I just walked in and said that I was there to buy a jimny and if they fucked me around I was going to buy it in Adelaide. 15min later the deal was done

They sell & fit diffs, they just told me they'd never done a GV before, which I appreciated (better than saying 'she'll be right' if they didnt know) Errrr also, what is OL?

OL = Opposite Lock 4x4. Another store for 4x4 products. Don't get me wrong, I haven't actually been treated to badly by ARB Darwin staff, the difference of opinion lies in the prices.
