I am using the swift thermostat housing and sierra water pump outlet pipe, I purchased a mtr and half of flexi radiator hose from the eBay link below, and ran them both down the passenger side of the engine bay. There is a few ways people do it but I found this to be super easy and looks really good.

I am sending the ecu off to be "chipped" by a Gti guy named Jason on redline Gti forum. It will give the ability to run 10psi. I will see how this goes for me, I have wideband and other tools etc I can use for logging. If I am not happy I may end up going adaptronic or mega squirt. But this will do for the moment to get the car running plus plenty of Gti boys running decent power with chipped Ecus.

What is your plan?

mate I would like as much help as I can get :)) I've currently got the engine in car ready to get into the wiring.. have the main engine loom that plugs into the ecu there on the engine and ecu and whole swift gti loom sitting on passenger seat out of a gti my mrs wrote off, bit worried about it all as I've read thru this entire topic and I am so confused on what I need and don't and where to even start..

I do have a bit of wiring knowledge as I do a lot of new 12v wiring on boats and cruisers but not with a big pile of random wiring haha..

if you could help in any way I would be very appreciative

Start by getting the wiring diagrams so you know which wire is what. Someone posted a link at the start of this thread which is the Gti mega conversion thread, in there is links to the wiring diagrams. Also start 1 bit at a time, work the fuel side out then do the ignition side. It really is piss easy once you get your head around it, there is maybe half a dozen wires that need to be spliced into, if that.

Power, accessories power, earth. (for fuel side) then couple coil wires for ignition side.

Learn which ecu pins are what so you can understand when TweakV2 says 'splice into a3 etc'.... The 3 plugs on the ecu: big one is A middle one is B and last small one is C....

To get fuel side sorted out its just a matter of running power and accessories trigger to both the 2 relays. And they need to be earthed to the ecu (Tweak posted which pins on the ecu earlier) you also need to run direct power to the white wire which Tweak also mention, this turns the ECU on. That's the fuel side all sorted out.

I will write more when I am back on the PC.

mate thank you for the reply, got it done today and it fired up with a lil fuel sprayed in the throttle body, took a while and a lot of walking away and having a breather but it is done :) found some awesome diagrams which helped a great deal.. tomoz I will get the fuel lines changed to efi line, fuel hose clamps and put my pump in then hopefully it fired up and runs sweet.. does anyone know what throttle cable I need to use, just figured sierra one doesn't quiet reach

thanks again

Good stuff bud.

I used an old cable laying around from another car. I had to use an anchor bolt (like on a bmx brake line) under the accelerator pedal. Dunno what other people are doing but this is holding well so far.

For the accelerator cable, use the original sierra cable and cut the end off. Then get an old gti cable and cut a large section of the cable off from the throttle body side. Then you can wire crimp the new section onto the sierra cable (note: a lot of solder will help with crimp strength)

Suzuki tachometer or aftermarket?

To set the timing you just need earth the ecu pin out a19 violet with green trace Wire and the timing will start constant.

good luck with the chipped ecu.. you going to run the air flow meter before the turbo or after ? either way its going to run shithouse and probably detonate the engine and blow head gaskets sooner or later.

as for the tacho im pretty sure it was you i helped on redline when noone else helped mastera .. the negative from the coil goes to the ignitor and the noise suppressor , it goes in as a brown wire with a white stripe and comes out as a plain brown wire to the instrument cluster as a tacho input , in some installations where ive eliminated the noise suppressor ive ran the tacho straight off the brown wire with white stripe either way you do it it will work .

AFM is after the turbo, so far she purs and runs perfect :-)

As for the chip, its only $50 so if it doesnt work well its no lost, I have a wideband and other tools to check what the car is and isnt doing. only problem I see is the afm getting oiled up...... I am keeping my eye out for a cheap ECU anyways.

Thanks Tweak, exactly what i needed !

& yes its the Suzuki tacho. I will look for this brown wire, I couldn't see anything obvious when putting it all back together but I must have missed it.

mate I had my boosted gti for 5yrs + and it never missed a beat running 8 psi with only a chipped ecu on a stock motor with a set Of BD10 cams so I don't see why anyone would think it will detonate and blow head gaskets.. I ran my afm before the turbo so there was no chance it would get oiled up.. ran like a dream and my mate who now owns it still has it running like a dream

Look for the noise suppressor on the SIERRA loom and find the brown wire coming out of it and run a wire from the negative side of the coil to the brown wire and it will work.
