Hi guys, I'm new to the world of these little fun boxes. I came from a fairly capable gu patrol set up for serious climbing so I'm still adjusting but loving my 01 jimny soft top thus far.

My questions are about traction and articulation.
My patrol could flex very well and I had a front auto locker (best thing ever)

My zook has an iron man 2" lift in it but I imagine it won't flex as well so I would like to compensate with traction.
i'm running 215 75 15 MT's

My questions:
1- what mods can I do (while keeping the legal 2" lift) to make this thing flex as best as possible?(assuming I remove the sway bar when wheeling) Radius arms? different rubber bushes? Shocks? which ones?

2-Is there a front auto locker made for these things? (I'm a big fan) If not can someone please post a link to the Chinese arb air locker knock off? I'd be fine with that for something this light

1) Very little. Pull the front sway bar off and run the lightest possible spring in the front. Other than that, any modifications that result in a significant improvement in articulation won't be legal. The restriction is in the arms and bushes, and there are no aftermarket parts that provide anything other than stock flex - many offer less. In any case, I don't believe there are any replacement arms that are legal without engineer approval.

You could add bumpstop spacing which would allow longer shocks, but they might not result in an outright increase in travel, and you'll have to deal with a reduction in compression travel that's not required with 215 tyres.

2) I'm not sure there is an auto locker (?)There isn't a copy air locker as far as I am aware, for the front of a Jimny (as yet.) Front lockers are not the same as Sierra. I'd recommend an air locker for the front.

JimnyBits in the UK says his poly bushes offer more flex due to having voids in them. I am thinking of giving them a try as all mu rubber bushes are disintegrating.

I'd be surprised if they offered more outright flex, but they might offer lower roll stiffness up until the whole shebang binds up, which is no bad thing, for sure.

I used a bit or timber to drive up there

Also if you put a front locker in the jimny you will need to watch your CVs on hard surfaces.

Flex wise, JimBits coils/arms seem to do a good job, but their bushes suck ass. Tim and I have had Bruce make up new bushes, so we will be trying those soon
