I'm looking for reduction gears to bring back the crawl with the bigger tyres on my 93 sierra but struggles with the local 4wd centre as their suppliers can’t get them.
so looking for as many shops in vic as possible that sell Rockhoppers 6.5:1 or any other band close to those ratios.
I have called Marks 4wd Adaptors and they told me that their Gearmaster gears are extremely loud and not for everyday driving.
Any help will be appreciated
Cheers
Tom

Lowrange again for me - A mate had to make use of the warranty - He was out on shipping the gears back, but got a brand new set for free. He had the 6.5s.
Word of warning - Before using the 6.5 gears, strengthen your Tcase with at least a rocktoy ring. I may have one for sale soon if you are interested BTW...

OK so Lowrangeoffroad looks like it’s a goer. With the dollar atm it comes to about $150 cheaper than Locktup and that includes shipping.
Strengthening the Tcase is a must and I’m not sure whether to get the Bomb Proof T-Case Mount Kit from Locktup or a rocktoy ring or both??
so lump_a_charcoal if your seeling the rocktoy ring, I probably will be interested
did notice that you just got a Mighty Kong...

i think that the troubles with trans cases start when non standard mounts
are used. i have done at least 30000ks on my 6.5's and besides braking
a rubber mount occasionally, have had no dramas.
all the broken cases i have seen have ether non standard mounts or some sort of cradle.
just my opinion of course, there will be many people that disagree with me.

I bought my gears from Lowrangeoffroad and broke the original mounts first drive with them...
I suggest you get the unbreakable ROCK4X poly mounts and the mighty Kong or Spidertrax cradle.. Will cost a bit more but you'll never have to touch it again.
