Does anyone run the Summit MudHogs? they have been around for a couple of yrs now and the only person that i know on here that runs them is klutched and he likes em.

has anyone else got any opinions about them? what have you heard? how long do they last? how do they rate in different terrains.



Im coming from the Maxxis Bighorn 762's in a 31x10.5x15 which are great but are not in production anymore and need something that is going to keep me going up the track. Would look else where if there not going to match or beat the bighorn performance.

Or does anyone recommend a MT that would be a worthy investment for under $300 per corner.

bridgestone has their new muddie on sale at the moment , under $200 for a 31 10 15 and the look like they might be a great tyre

im just about to try a set in 245 75 16 on a work ute

Nah i havnt really thought much about the 764's, didnt think they looked as good as the 762's but i cant say much as ive barely looked at them.

Aron, had seen both those pages. Both give good reviews.

Christover- they are another one that im looking at. How you liking yours?

Liked my last set Couragias so much, I bought them again.
Quite soft, good for our light cars, and good road manners for a muddy.
Last set went 4 years on the Sierra then another 2 on the Vit.
I'm sure there is better tyres around, but not in my price bracket.

the general grabber seems to work well on the KOH rigs... perth doesn't get much rain if i remember correctly & is pretty dry, just like the king of the hammers.

yeah thats true, but then what are you going to do when you do travel down to areas like: brunswick, harvey, collie, dwellingup ect and they are mainy clay/mud and rock. The PL still gets a fair bit of rain when it does rain.

i've looked at some pics of the grabbers in mud and they do seem to clear the tread quite well.

worst case though they become my summer tyres =) I reckon they'd be awesome on rocks - lots of tread faces making contact.

in the pics they dont seem to have a lot of side biters tho? (rather small and smooth) also i couldnt run two tyres, would just rather 1 set.

I've been interested in the Achilles XMT. The only bad reviews I've read are that the compound is too soft for a Patrol.

They are a clone of the Procomp xtreme mud terrain, and if you believe the rumors the moulds were purchased from Procomp.

Get a set, I love mine! Almost brand new (100kms max on them) had 13mm tread and now I've got between 11-12mm, so they don't seem to wear quickly. Mate has a set as well on his lux and he loves em.

They work really well on all terrain. Few months ago it was really wet up glasshouse and they smashed it in the mud and on wet rocks. Really dry up there now and they just grip everything.

yes these
we were mucking around on slick shiny red clay today ( so slippery it was hard to walk on )with them and they grip nicely and are quiet for a mud on the road
granted they are only two days old but for the price and the fact they are bridgestone its hard to beat. and they are a lot more open than they look in the pic???
