Hi! im thinking about doing a half RUF conversion (drill the hole further back on the spring hanger and use extended shackle's) on my 88 W/T sierra to achieve some more flex and a better ride, i have 2 inch raised springs in at the moment but was wondering if it will be lower with the standard rear springs up front, would i have to swap some leaf's over from the 2 inch raised front springs to the standard rear springs im going to put up front to keep the 2 inch lift ? sorry if this question has been asked before, i tried searching about swapping leaf's but couldn't seem to find anything that helped :(

also has anyone had any issues with shock's when doing a half RUF because the diff is further forward will the shockie be on to much of an angle ?

any help is appreciated :)

WT's don't have a big enough hanger to redrill further back, that only works on NT.
What you'll have to do is remove the rear (of front spring) hanger and turn it 180 then weld it back on.

PS. Don't ever get under a car supported by bricks. Use axle stands or wooden blocks.

Sure that's not the other way around want33's?

In any case, Ruf is a complex task with some amount of fabrication, regardless of how it's done.

My Snow White 1.0 chassis had "enough" meat to redrill it so did an NT I have done. I personally haven't done a WT but if you look in Alex's stealth RUF thread you'll see what I mean.

What springs are they? If they are anything but the OME 40mm or stock rears you will need an uber long shackle if you are just planning on redrilling the rear mount.

Monley managed with no fab. No issues with caster or shackle angle, boomerang shackles fix everything.
