I have also mounted my engel in a box similar to yours, I bought some friction hinges and changd the lid to open sideways (and stay open on its own) so without that shelf it opens up inside the box. My box is 820mm from memory so not sure if yours is the same.

Just done 2500km with the trailer This is when I pulled a hub apart to try and work out why it was getting red hot. This is when I found out that rag tyres on heavy trailers need more then 20 psi. It was running really hot at 20 but I just thought they were shit tyres, after chatting to a tyre shop when I bought another tyre the recommendation was to run 60psi and they now run cold. It was a hectic ride when it popped, thank fuck it was dark and I was only doing 80kph

I add 5psi to mine for longer road trips. Been checking them a bit, as they new, no heat so far. But this will make me check them more on the way. They only getting 20psi.

Mine are 750/15 12 ply rag tyres. Apparently rag tyres need lots of air to run properly.

Oh, that's right, I remember that from long ago. Exploded tyres, and rooted tyres lay all over the outback roads. Glad tyre tech has improved.
