hey guys, i have just bought an 09 Jimny JX

im a Subaru man, this is the first Suzuki i've owned and had the chance to play with. please excuse the silly questions. i've found if you know what the motor/chassis/series is called.. you can find parts and mods alot easier :D

im asuming its a 1.3l (what would the engine be?)

searching for chassis bits.. whats the chassis called?

the plan for this is 2" or 3" lift, 29" or 30" tires, tubular front and rear bar, with sliders

UHF, Snorkle, etc etc

any do's and do not's would be greatly appreciated :-)

Cheers Tony

Engine is M13AA... Not sure what you mean by the chassis question.

Plenty of 2-3 inch lifts around... Everyone has their opinions on the ride and comfort of these, but castor correction is a must.

29-30's will require some reduction. There's a few ways to do this. Being an 09 model, you'll have to change your gearbox to a 05-06?? Model, to do the Sierra case swap. Other than that, trialjimny do reduction gears that change both hi and lo. Pending on what you drive up there as to what you need as far as reduction %

I am looking at bringing in some gearsets from Protrack in Greece. They are working on completing the range and should be ready within a couple of months. I think they will be more affordable than currently available options. I think they will also have more viable ratios.
