what would cause the brake and alt warning lights to come on at the same time.
they come on together, have a random brightness and always disappear when i turn something on.
eg: dash lights come on. switch on air con and the warning lights will go out.
the alt is new and is charging fine and there is plenty of brake fluid.
should i just put a bit of leckie tape over the lights and forget about it or
is my car about to spontaneously burst into flames. some fucker did say
nice jeep to me today, so it might happen.

snakes?
is it easy to make em come on?
does the temp and fuel gauges do funny things at the same time?
some shitbox toyotas light up al the lights when the alternator goes funny but sierras dont have the same bulb check setup in them so I cant think of anyway that they are linked
I doubt its something wierd like dropping ignition power to the dash and the alt feeding power back up to it cause that wouldnt make the oil light light up

I'm guessing alternator or a bad earth somewhere. Cause it's a new alternator, doesn't mean it's not faulty. I've been caught out before.

finally have it worked out.
when you get both the warning lights come on it means that the alt is
over charging. i thought that 14.4 volts at idle with everything turned on
was a bit to good.
the alt is putting out 16.5v at 2000 revs.
