Hi all,

I'm currently looking putting a dobinson 40mm lift in my grand vitara and I am wanting to grade my tyres as well to some all terrain ones but not sure on what size to go to. I am looking at 245/65/17 but my issue is that what the heck do you do with the spare as I do t believe it will fit in the cover. What has everyone else done when they have upgraded their tyres. Obviously you can't use a odd size tyre when ya get a flat as you will start damaging cv shafts and gearbox etc.

Good to hear your feed back

Might be a case of ditch the cover?
As long as the bigger tyre fits on the door, be done with it!

Just run it without the cover, the inner part is easy to remove, you may need to space the tyre away from the body with a couple of thick washers over the studs.

I ditched my cover and sold it on gumtree for the mods fund. Also as steve said put some washers in as it will scrub ever so slightly.

We have done the same..... managed to squeeze a 225/75/16 inside the cover but it was so tight it took ages to get it off.

Ditched the cover and its all good.
