Gday guys just wondering if the dash from a 97 vitara wit bolt straight into my 94 as I like the newer design alto more.

I'm going to say not easily. The cluster is different, so the loom will be different. The late dash was designed for airbags, so the structure behind the dash will be different. I'd say it's going to be a big job and you'd need both cars side by side.

Nothing to support it without the structure of the later model behind it, and it would look hacktastic with the old instruments jammed in.

Dash work rarely goes well in my opinion. My vitara instruments into a 1.0 sierra went well, but that's because 1.0 sierras have a steel dash and that's easy to work with. Modern dashes don't like to be messed with and normally look hack once you do. Even an "easy" swap like a coil dash into a leaf sierra often doesn't come out that well judging by the loose, rattly ones I've seen.
You need to put both cars side by side and do some disassembly to prove what was possible. It's definitely not going to be just a skin swap.

Ive had a dash from a 1996 vitara apart and the donor vitara for my sierra was a 1993 I can confirm they are quite different behind the dash.
