Hey guys, I think some previous owner who installed a after market stereo wired the power to the tailight fuse and every time the radio is on and I turn my headlights the tail light fuse blows and the radio stops and the clock also.
Best solution?
Throw your recommendations at me please!

Personally I'd remove the stereo, speaker and all the wiring, however trace and remove the power from the tail light fuse and power is correctly.

Yes, but why?
The original power source for the radio has it's own fuse in the fuse box (shared with the cigarette lighter), I'd be tapping back into that.

Sure can. You will need to add an inline fuse however.
Direct wiring from the battery will also mean that you have constant power to the stereo, which means that if you have the stereo on, turning the key off will not turn the stereo off.
Greater chance of flat battery syndrome.
better off to wire it into the factory wiring for the stereo which should still be there or piggy back the cig lighter supply wire.

with reconnecting the wires back to the original fuse, is that just a case of soldering them wires back onto it?
would the interior light run off the same fuse as the tailights?

In effect yes, but check that the wire isn't still there.
Yes, interior light is on the same circuit as the brake light switch.

I had the same issue once when I installed my first radio.

I connected the power to the original stereo power what I didn't realise is that when I turned on the lights the power cut from that wire and became an earth if that makes sense so it was blowing all my fuses at night.

Something like this could be causing you grief?

Was my first ever time

Just remembered it was the acc wire. Was a long time ago. With the ignition on it had power but when I switched the lights on the power no longer went through that wire. In the end It had something to do with the stock CD player and dash lights.

Blew my dash light fuse and something else but can't remember what.

What I'm getting at is check the constant power wire and the acc wire and make sure they are connected properly.

This issue is a really easy fix. You need to connect the earth from the stereo directly to a metal part of the dash. The earth will currently be connected into the factory loom, this overloads the park light circuit

X2 had the exact same problem with another car I bought. Quick fix
