Won't that mean it'll only come on when the locker is on?

Fitted correctly, the locker won't lock in 2wd, I think.

yes it will... locker doesn't know or care what the transfer case is doing.

wouldn't you want it to light up the 4wd light when you put it in 4wd rather just when engaging the locker. :?

The easiest way is to leave the little air pump in place and plug the output line, the other way is to wire the 4WD light in the cluster directly to the 4WD switch on the transfer case - look for orange & black wires - one is black with an orange stripe, the other orange with a black stripe.

Its even easier than that.

Bridge out the red and pink wires at the pump connector. This basically eliminated the pressure switch in the pump. As soon as you put the transfer lever into 4wd the light will come on.

The pump has a timer on it and it the pump does not reach its required pressure and close the switch it times out and switches off the pump.

Hope this helps.

I was pretty surprised to find the motor bolted to the inside of the bumper given hoe important it is.... I did a google search and found mention in this thread of a cable tie zip lock mod..... Anyone know about this ?

That is so dodgy......It works but there are better ways of getting rid of the stupid air engagement. If your going to the hassle of pulling the front diff out to put a cable tie in it why not just replace the center?

Because cable ties are cheap & readily available - replacement centers are neither, and whilst I'm about it, don't they also require a change of axle or some hybrid axle stuff on the right side?

Ideally... yes but ive been rnning with a locked front for quite some time wit the stock GV drivers side CV/axle withou any issues apart from a few snapped cv's. Diff Drop brackets help alot.

B4T, will the bridge still work with the air actuator totally gone? Or do I need to keep the stupid thing?

Get rid of it......

Cut the plug off that goes to the pump and short the red and pink together.

I'd put up pics but don't have any.
