pfft my 1.6 ltr Vitt was overtaking LS motored winch trucks on the weekend , ok they may have been winching at the time seriously pulling string how boring
for those that have the V6 how hard can you push them ? do they like the Limitaaa what do they rev to ?
thinking I may need to get the Vitt to go a bit quicker (or build a new one that does )
anyone know what Killer wasps a V6 does compared to the 1.6 ?

The XL-7 Sounds like a Commodore once you replace the boat anchor back muffler....(It is seriously heavy and begging to be rock bashed) Best Highway I have gotten from the h27A was a Highway run from Sydney to Canberra and got 10L/100.. and that was with the 2inch lift. Around town... Yeah, Not so good.. Not sure what it gets to the tank..
Sadly the best I have seen so far was a combined drive of Highway and Fire trails and got 480k's before I had to start looking for servo.. I am pretty sure that 550k's would be absolute run dry..
Anyone dragged a 1.6 vs a SV620 (LWB) with same sorta mods? Getting mixed opinions hahah.
Btw, speaking of hitting the limiter, I 'accidently' hit the limiter last night, actually sounds pretty cool, the valve bounce is super loud.
Btw, according to car sales. Stock (LWB) 1994 1.6 is 70kw and the power to weight ratio is 59W/kg. Stock 1995 V6 is 100kw and power to weight ratio is 76W/kg. So I think that there shows that the V6 is a heap faster, which makes the 1.6 seem disgustingly slow in my opinion

my swb SE416 with 31's is slow but can easily keep up with the traffic i get between 9.5-10l/100km. why dont you pretend you interested in buying one and go for a test drive?

But heaps of people tell you how awesome and different they sound, then the same people complain about the sound of commodores
Anybody care to post up a h series exhaust note vid?
It's uploading to youtube now, then Ill post it here.

Oh, I am not interested in buying one, was just wondering what they were like, because I wanted to see if my opinion on them was wrong or not. Seems like I am being proven slightly wrong. I thought I would be able to walk faster than one
Same Noise as mine makes... So the H27A sounds no different lol....
I was getting the exhaust done at the local exhaust place and I heard them start up what I thought was a VN Commodore..... turns out it was the XL-7... I really can see how my mates called it the 4x4 commodore as it sounds similiar...
There would have to be an exhaust on it wouldn't there, or lack there of?
Yep Macdaddy has an exhaust. Pretty sure its a 2.25" system from memory with a fairly loud muffler.
Sound of mine:
That is a H27A with extractors & 2.5" exhaust but with a big muffler on it still. Keeps it nice and quiet unless you get up it.
Actually sounds pretty sexy ninjamoses. Might have to get me one of those. Roughly how much did you pay for the whole manifold? I am after a 2.5" whole new manifold, extractors, cat, everything. how much you reckon?

Extractors were $495 when I got them, but I'm fairly sure I've read they have come down slightly in price now.
The 2.5" system with a hi-flo cat and new muffler was $500 also. I didn't bother paying the extra eleventy billion $$ for s/steel tubing or a ceramic core cat. Cost/benefit ratio just isn't there. Pays to shop around as quotes can vary by a ridiculous amount (ie. double or even triple at some places).
I fitted the extractors myself previous to taking it in to get the exhaust fitted. If you wanted them to fit it I imagine they will sting you another hundred or two for labour.
You do have an auto which helps, but still sound like a swine.
That thread doesn't really given me a price? I seriously don't even car about sound (too much). As long as it is not stupidly loud, I don't want it to be heaps louder than stock. I just want a whole new exhaust for more POWAAA! and a bit better fuel

Ahh shit. Don't overly want to do a whole exhaust system myself, heard they can bit quite a pain. So looking around $1000 - $1200 for a new exhaust system. Dam, bit exy Better start saving
Btw, you notice a big power difference after upgrading?
It wasn't about price it was more about fitting extractors to a v6 2.0 SV. sounds like headaches to me, did you even read it?
Oh sorry, yes, I did read it. Yeah, i never had intentions on doing it myself anyway. I was going to get someone do it for me (hopefully not $500 though). I just won't get those extractors then, I am sure there are other extractors that doesn't effect alot of other things right?
