I have broken the string that goes to a wheel speed sensor, can I just solder it back together? Or should I just stab a screwdriver through the ABS warning light?

The string keeps braking, no matter how I route the cable it just isn't long enough for my flex. Can I solder in more string to allow for flex? Can I just use any old power string?
