ring to see if it's in stock, if not wait until it's in stock & get him to call you.

wait till the product fails and you need aftermarket support before you judge.

Did you miss the part where lots of people are complaining? or the part where he screwed a door closed fitting a snorkel?? come on now...

A friend of mine with a 3.2L Grand Vitara bought the dob 50mm sus kit from him. His failed and was swapped after a few calls. All good in my book.

As for the snorkel thing. Have you NEVER stuffed up a job? Wow you must get wobbly sitting on that high horse of yours. He admitted he made a mistake and paid to have it repaired? What more can you possibly want? We all make mistakes.

*Disclaimer:

I have only had limited dealings with him. I make my decisions based on my dealings. Im not saying he doesnt make mistakes and that he is a pleasure to deal with. However do you really want to be the reason another small aussie buisness goes under just because of a few problems? He is providing a product that is really needed. There arent many places that make suzuki parts.

I will probably have to eat my words if he tries to screw me if my sus fails...

Flame suit on...

As much as I have an opinion that some of the suspension related stuff ODA might sell is junk (just an opinion - I haven't bought any of it first-hand - only secondhand LOL), is it possible that bearing (which I have no idea what it does) was just stuffed to begin with and really it was just upset/disturbed when the struts were swapped out? Gooldin has posted about recent trips on corrugated outback roads and his NGV is far from new.

How would that bearing have been improperly installed if that were the case - can it be misaligned or overtightened?

How easy is it for one suspension shop to see the shiny and obviously new gear installed and bag out another installer? Of course i'm not saying Mr ODA couldn't have just totally cocked up the job but in this case it's pretty convenient for one mechanic to blame another when there might be a totally reasonable explanation such as normal wear and tear on a replaceable part.

Or a bearing that was starting to wear on a certain angle, being removed and replace on a different angle... is Now 'out of phase' and flogs out. fine line between good practices and a bad mechanic.

fwiw the springs should have also been covered under warranty - the labour did not have to be.

Not going to get into the argument about the rest as I have never had direct dealings.

I don't think ODA is liked very much....

My dealings with them aren't as significant but I had better customer service with arb and they point there nose up at zook drivers.

I Rung ODA to order shock relocation brackets, took my name and number and said they would call.. 2 weeks later, still nothing so I rung again and was told no such order was placed nor my name had never been heard of.
I didn't bother any further and contacted Russ from JimnyBits and had them in less than a week, I knew even though it was coming from a different country i would get them.

Fu*king exact same thing happened to me although i waited 7 weeks then told him to cancel it.

for a start why would you get dobinsons products from ODA when you can buy directly from dobinsons for cheaper? (nice blokes too)

your strut was what broke so you got 2 new struts, cheering! i wouldve kept the higher coils and been chuffed that ODA was doing the labor and wheel alignment for free.
so after talking on the phone and agreeing not to get the springs, you sent him an email that implied you wanted the new coils. (when dobinsons said your current ones were fine.) and whos gunna loose sleep over 10mm ffs
so when all that was installed for free you refused to pay and fucked him over for the price of the coils putting him out of pocket and giving him no chance to take the springs back out

to me seems like the customer service was fair, just sloppy work.
maybe if youd actually paid for the product you received there would be a chance of him fixing the fuck up. but you cant expect any favors from someone you just ripped off.

i wouldnt talk to you either.

i also wouldnt buy any of the marked up products from him, besides that sexy vit bullbar.
