Hi there,

I am just wondering if the Australian SE416 1.6 suzuki vitara LWB has the same brake setup as the equivalent year model suzuki sidekick JX sport 4 door? I want to upgrade my SWB brakes to LWB vented discs and calipers and can get remanufactured calipers with pads for a similar price to what wreckers over here want for 17 year old calipers. The models look the same and both have the 1.6 injected engines and use vented discs but I want to make sure before I buy them. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

but the alloys that came off it wouldn't clear the caliper on my SV, maybe the caliper & rotor we the same size as an SV on that import but the rotor offset/caliper offset might have differed as the knuckles differ between SE & SV vitara & might explain why they didn't fit on mine. :?

ahhh cool, didn't realise you'd had parted more than one jap import.

OP, you'll need 16" wheels to clear the calipers/rotors from a SV vitara & you will also need to swap over the whole knuckle to get the right caliper spacing on the rotor.

just upgrade to the LWB SE416 front disks & calipers & put a rear disk conversion on the back.

Cheers for that. Ended up finding a good set of second hand SE416 calipers and a pair of new vented discs + brake pads to suit. Will consider putting discs on the back at a later stage.
