2 quick questions

Is there a more powerful engine for my G16B fit directly onto my gearbox?


I'm about to install an electrical winch on my 3 door grand vitara ... It pulls just about 400 amps from the battery at full load ... My generator is 60 amps ...
Will this cause problems?
I have a 90 amp / 630 amp battery in the car ... And this is not to race ... only hobby

Unless I'm very much mistaken the 2.0 J20A from the 2.0 Grand Vitara will bolt to the 1.6 bell housing & transmission, so that is an option.

It would be a pretty involved swap though.

That's new to me. Is that the same with the vit box's?????

There are two manual transmissions used on the Grand Vitaras (SQ series) one on the four cylinder variants, the other on the V6, if you check the parts catalogues, you'll see the bell housing & transmission case are the same part number on the SQ416 & SQ420.

As far as the Vitaras go, you can swap the J20 into the SE416 although I believe it requires a modified flywheel - it's sufficiently popular a swap in the US that you can buy kits from several vendors.
