Hi all,

Looking for complete front CV's (including axle shafts) for a 1984 Siera with 1L engine.

I'm located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, but anywhere close will be fine.

Let me know what you have got.

Thanks.

Brett

I have a few pairs in Brisbane. If you can't find any locally I can package and post. $50 for a pair + post.

Thanks for the reply, Any idea what it would cost to send a pair of CV's to Vic 3136?

As for the username, thanks for the tip. I did not really take much notice of the engine capacity just had it in my head it was 990cc.

I wouldn't bother with 1L CV's. 1.3 NT bolt in are substantially stronger.

PM sent greyghost - Thanks

Gwagensteve - Are 1.3L CV's 100% interchangeable with 1.0L CV's? No hidden extras that I will need?

as long as you get cv's/shafts from a 1.3 N/T sierra yes

1.3l CVs/axles (you need the 1.3l axles too because they have a different cv spline to 1l ones) just slip in, no other parts or mods needed. It's a simple case of pulling the 1l cv/axles out and putting the 1.3l NT ones in. The 1.3l CVs are significantly larger diameter than the 1l ones, though the axles strength remains the same.

Obviously these have to be from a 1.3l NT because a WT has longer axles.

Another option is putting the whole 1.3l NT diff assembly in. It bolts in but the tail shaft bolt pattern is different, the best way to get around that is to use NT 1.3l transfer case flanges and tail shafts. You need to change the diff gears because 1.3ls have higher ratios. Certain models of Jimny or Maruti have the right ratio. The advantage of this diff swap is that you can fit diff locks. There are no diff lock options for the 1l diffs except minispools from Japan. 1.3l diff locks of any kind are readily available.

Of course then there's WT diff swaps but that needs a bit of fab. :)
