hey guys
just wondering if any of you know why my spotlights would be coming on with my headlights off and my park lights on?
Although they turn off with normal headlights. Then come back with high beam.
I grabbed a test light and whilst all lights turned off there was power going to the headlight plug behind headlights. although when plugged in the lights are off untill activated...
any help is welcomed.

the wire goes straight to high beam wire though?

one of the headlight fuses is blown, 3rd or 4th from the left, top row

pull it out and check, dont rely on a testlight for this one as both sides of the fuse will still show power

assuming they are wired right and have worked before.

head light fuses are fine. the headlights still work.
they havent woorked properly before.
they have always turned off on normal beam then back on for park and off and high beam...

did you check the fuses or just assume they're fine since the headlights are working? suzuki's do some wierd stuff when fuses blow. mine had my high beam come on whenever i hit the brakes from one fuse blowing, another fuse blown made my high and low beam swap places on the switch... now whenever i have strange electrical issues i pull ALL the fuses and check each one...

Where is your relay coil earthed? Or there is no relay and your lights are only HALF brightness (beacuase the spotylights are now wired in series with your headlights???

When a H3 headlight is setup with 'negative switching', there is a constant supply to one of the pins (direct from fuse panel), and the other 2 pins are the low beam negative and high beam negative - these 2 are switched at the light switch.

When the light switch is on high beam, with lights on, or the passing switch is pressed the high beam pin at the headlight is switched to ground.

Are your spotlights on regardless of the park light switch position? I've just looked at the wiring diagram for a leafy sierra and can only think you have tapped into the switched park light +ve and the lowbeam -ve instead.

Bozy97, do you have a picture of your setup? Have you followed a wiring diagram from on this site somewhere?

EDIT:

FYI the drivers side headlight wire colours are
White/Red - supply +ve
Red/White - low beam -ve
Red - high beam -ve

passenger side headlight is ditto except it's +ve supply is White/Blue

these lights are the hell rallye 4000 with hellas wiring harness made for the lights.
no the lights do have a relay.
also i didnt mention that my zook has H4 hadlights.
when i run a test light there is constant supply to all pins. unless lights are turned on.

yes the spotlights are on with parklights regardless.
i followed the diagram from hella.
i have relay it has a 20amp fuse. this runs to fuse block, this is to enable them to turn off with car.
a wire goes to ground from relay, the lights have their own ground.
wire goes from relay to switch then back to highbeam wire. (which is somehow getting power with parkers and no lights.

The relay ground goes to the high beam and the other pin goes to the fuse as well .
Suzuki swith ground not positive.

basics of it, get some twin core wire (doesnt have to be thick) run one pair relay to headlight and one pair relay to switch.

the pair at the headlight connect each wire to one of the vertical pins in the back of the headlight plug
the pair at the switch, each wire to either side of the switch
at the relay, take a wire from the headlight pair and a wire from teh switch pair and join them together, the remaining 2 hook one to 85 on the relay and one to 86

should work now.
