sound like he is trying to cover him self for a dodgy set up. did he reset the lash when i put it in?

i've had locker in road car before and never worn out a crown wheel from them (i did about 25,00 ks with a locker in the diff) i twisted and broke a few axles but thats about it.

chop sounds like it wasn't set up properly, you cant guess at setting up backlash however all the fitting instructions say to guess.
