Wow, I'm definitely not having a good run with my Jimny.
Anyway. Today my brother decided he wanted to install my light bar that I bought so I let him while I was working out other problems under the car. He cut the switch on the harness off to use on of my better switches that clicks right into my dash. I told him I wanted it set up so that I can only turn on the light bar when the ignition is on. So the wire that is meant to go to the relay he decided to put on the cigarette light positive. After re-crimping it with the relay wire attached to it. He plugged the cigar positive in again and the cigar no longer works. There is a blue 20cm wire that connects to the cigar positive and then onto another wire. So he removed the blue one to see if it would come on when the other is in contact but still no luck. The cigar fuse is not blown either.
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I know my brother is one of them but I'm talking about the car.
Get a test light and see if there is positive current at the cigarette lighter with the ignition on and then check that the earth is still good with a continuity tester.
PS if its a forward facing light bar it will need to be hooked up to high beam for legal reasons.
Turns out that the cigarette lighter has aftermarket wiring running off a relay for some reason. Had a mate come over who is into electrics and was able to fix it in 15mins. The light bar has been fitted and works good.
