I had a look at the link Joe, since I have the Sierra kit with the vw calipers, does that mean I would need 16" rims? I haven't fitted them yet to test and there was no mention of that before, if that's the case though there's quite a problem for me.

I have to start concentrating on the Jim fronts and GV rears so I don't plan on doing rear Sierra or Jimny for quite a while.

Jimny fronts sound good. Ill have to wait a while as i need a lift kit as i went and welded on ora diff braces and forgot about it hitting the sump -.- so if it goes, it goes sadly. For now ill collect parts

Do you have instructions available anywhere for the sierra kits anymore? I had an old set, I basically had to guess the orientation of one of the plates from the GV picture in the jml thread. Also as far as I can tell from test fitting, the stock 15" sierra rims foul on the passat calipers but 15" sunnys don't.

Any help joeblow? I'm guessing the large hole in the outermost plate mounts to the top and is for abs which isn't a problem, and that the handbrake cable holder that mounts on the caliper being slightly different to the stock holder means that the actuator lever needs to be taken off and moved a couple of splines?

Cool as, I figured it was essentially the same as the kit I do have your old instructions for, but given how important these are to get right I don't want to find out I'd managed to put it together backwards or something and it breaks while driving.

I should have updated this and said that I figured out what orientation the plates should be in and put the 10mmish hole at the top front as I guessed that it's for the abs sensor which I don't have or need.

Also the old instructions I had for the kit with pintara calipers said to put gasket silicone between the spindle and the plates, I figured this still let crap get in around the rear of the plates so I also put a little between the plates ad the diff tube, I know there's an axle seal there but if it never has to see any water then that's better again isn't it.

If anyone wants pictures of how I installed the kit let me know.

TYO oil seal
other numbers on the packet are 400723N and a barcode 9324439177333

Just a note on the handbrake cables. As an interim measure to get the handbrake functional, as I do not have welder suitable to weld the thick steel of the caliper brackets, I removed the centralising bracket under the hump and drilled a hole toward the back, allowing this bracket to move forward 25mm. This allowed connection. I will need to severely shorten the caliper brackets as the LHS was resting against the exhaust. I have zip tied it to the radius arm until I am able to sort this.

I will investigate weather I can drill a hole toward the front of the centralising bracket to move it backward and take up the extra slack.

Which calipers do you have, Joe had a couple of different kits available, this was the issue we had, expected pintara kits, got mitsubishi, couldn't find the mitsubishi galant calipers around here, Joe sent me a new set of plates to suit the VW passat calipers, which are fine unless you want to run rims with no offset in which case you would need 16" rims. If you're talking Jimny you need 16" rims for the passat version anyway.

I would have to go and check my rig to see how the calipers expect the handbrake to work, I haven't even looked at actually putting a handbrake into it yet I'm still waiting for my hubs to come back with fresh bearing races pressed in.

Joe do we require anything different handbrake wise for each kit? I remember reading something about needing a galant handbrake for the galant kit and pintara handbrake for the pintara kit, do I need to source a passat handbrake for the passat kit or was it a Jimny handbrake that suits it?

I'm using The Galant calipers. Also, The handbrake cable bracket fowls on the radius arms so they can't stay like this. To clarify, when I said 'weld the thick still of the caliper brakets', I actually meant the handbrake brackets bolted to the caliper.

Today I bought a cheap spanner set and ground down the 14mm to make it easier to undo the nuts securing the centralising bracket.

nissan full float kit, have procured pintara station-wagon callipers (i think), which i have been told by a few people now are the same as a r31 skyline rear.
just trying to get a photo of what people have used and decide if what i have is viable, or if i need to go try and get my money back and go on the hunt again.
