Hey everyone. I'm new at this forum. I have a 2010 jimny. I bought a 3" GIZ suspension lift kit last year Oct.

Giz did not send an installation guide with. So I fitted it to the best of my knowledge. I fitted the castor correctional bushes the same as this guys photo.

So when I drove with my jimny after the wheel alignment. It was fine and drove very good, ( on a smooth tar road) but when I drove back to the farm. The road just before the farm road is bad. ( uneven, pot holes etc)
So between 70-80km/h I got a death wobble! But I see in the wheel alignment sheet, is the castor out.

Giz told me a steering damper will fix the problem. But I took the kit out and fitted the old shocks back in the jimny. I kept the castor correctional bushes in. But the death wobble was still there. So when I took the bushes out and fitted the std bushes in the wobble is 100% gone. So I think it is the castor that causes the death wobble.

Now how can I fix the problem?
Must I fit the 2 deg bushes or the 3 deg bushes?

So you fitted the caster correction bushes before the wheel alignment? And the wheel alignment report then said that caster was not correct? BY HOW MUCH? That is what you should be adjusting it to.

Better way would have been to get Wheel Align, THEN fit correction bushes by the amount required.

what size tires are you runing and on what rims? that governs the amount of energy for a wobble to occur.
those panhards can get loose fast, check the bolts are tight and the adjustment mechanism lock nuts are tighter, this will eliminate one source of the wobbles getting worse.
if there's no play in the pan hard, how much is the castor out? 2.5deg? another option is castor corrected arms like http://www.jimnybits.co.uk/shop/jimny/s ... d_442.html
the JB arms are perfect for the Jb 3" lift but i dont know how many degrees they rotate the diff.

the next option is to shim the kingpins to a initial torque of 4.5kg but this means pulling the entire hub down and removing the scraper seals. in saying that mine are set to 3.5kg with the scraper seals on and i only get minor wobble from my wheels being out of balance, and only when the front left and right are opposed to each other causing harmonic amplification. if you set the initial torque to 4.5kg with scraper seal on, the friction from the seals would only slightly increase the torque required, therefore you would still be closer to 4kg then i am, which should do the trick.

I fitted the castor correctional bushes in before I done the wheel alignment. I will post the wheel alignment sheet tonight. I'm just on my way to botswana for the day. How can I adjust the castor bushes when it is in the trailing arms?

I have the STD allow rims and tires. 205/70R15. I don't have the money now for the radial arms.

You'll notice you have over 2˚ of negative caster. Specs are up to 2˚55" of positive caster



If that's what you have ended up with after the installation of your caster bushes you have them incorrectly installed and it's not surprising you'll have a wobble.

what bushes did you have in 2deg or 3 degrees? when you had the wheel alignment done? the kit do sent state how many degrees it corrects.

ill put up a pic of the JB trailing arm vs the stock one. that way youve got something to compare to
simplicity my old control arms are slipped onto the additional bolt overhang. the jb arms correct for 4 inches of lift thereabouts compared to stock. both have suzuki bushes.
if you pressed your castor corrected bushes into one arm, and compared it to a stock one, you can see how many inches you should raise the car to keep the standard castor, which as you say doesnot cause wobbles with your panhard and tyre combination.

Wow ok cool. The Giz factory is only opening again on the 9th of feb. My friend will email them all the information and ask them for an installation guide how to install the correctional bushes. He is trying to be a Giz agent here is south africa. So we using my jimny as a demo. I'm leaving for botswana again tomorrow and will only return on wednesday (12/02/2014 my b-day). So chat later everyone. Thats for all the help.

Hey everyone. With the radial arms what I need for my lift. A guy would like to sell me the front castor radial arms that he bought from jimnybits in the uk, will this work or must I also have the rear ones fitted? Here is a photo of the front arms

Get those front arms. You don't necessarily need the rear arms

yeah there was someone not that long ago posting about them.... turned our disasterous from what they were saying... It would give you way too much castor correction and do more harm then good.
