Hi Guy's i have just bought a 16v vitara for a beach buggy project to be towed behind on a A-frame.

Unfortunatly the radiator hose split whilset out playing in the soft sand, we did not pick up on the problem untill it was too late.

So instead of a engine rebuilding the G16a an turboing it we want to drop a 4age in..

My mechanic mate an i are wanting to do a engine conversion, to a Black Top 20v Toyota 4age for extra RELIABLE power..

I was wondering if anyone know's of a company that make ADDAPTOR PLATE for this engine too mate to the 1600 auto trans ??

Cheers any help would be greatly appricated..

I spent some time discussing this with BenT. He is theoretically able to do the adapter plate, apparently he has measured up a 4a motor. You'd be on your own for a starter, flex plate, and maybe converter though. I stopped pursuing it because the rear mount distributor on the 20v motor forces the motor well forward. To convert to coil packs or move the dizzy looked to be an expensive hassle.

4agze motors have the dizzy in the right spot, but they are older and harder to get. Do make more torque though.

Hi Steve

Cheers for your input man, it's good to hear someones input that has given this some thought in the past..
Im ok with the rear mounted distributor as this truck will be towed to an from trips so cutting the firewall is a very possible option to make fit if required, Do you think i will have to some how figuar a way out too get the starter motor too fit an mounted ? i was planing to use the 1600 suzuki trans converter..
