[SPRINT-GTO]

Just picked up a cheap 1996 Vitara & when I bought it only did a quick inspection on engine & it was a 16 valve so I thought --OK its a 16B
However when I go through blue slip procedure to register find a different engine number & mechanic tells me its actually a 16V G16A!!
No problems with registration ,engine not stolen etc & vehicle passed & now registered.
Appears one of the previous owners may have put a later model Jap 16v G16A in.???
Engine had been reconditioned by the guy I bought it off--crankshaft grind,new pistons bearings,hone block/head,machine flywheel,recondition head etc
But all the receipts he gave me refer to G16B.???
Question --are the 16 valve G16A engines the same as the earlier G16B, I want to fit extractors & not sure if I require extractors for G16A or G16b???

I know my mate has a 16a bottom amd its a 16v

You want extractors for a 16V, if they fit a 16V then they will fit irrespective of which block it has.
