Looking at transfer gears from LROR this year to put into the 1lt case i have in my coily,
Are the NT and WT gearsets the same? I also was going to ask are 1lt cases able to accept gears from LROR?

1 litre cases with a 4WD light will accept gears from LROR.

I might be wrong, but I thought that only 6.4/6.5 gear sets replace every gear in the transfer case? As in, if you use 4.1/4.9 gears you still need a stock 1.3 gear?

Steve.

Ok i will have to take that into consideration. My 1ltr case is in bad shape it has a loud whine above 80-90kmh and is only present when the accelerator is pressed.

Would it be wise to find a WT case and rebuild with a bearing kit and gears at the same time?

I was aiming for 4.1 or 4.9 gears as i still like to do 400km highway trips up and down the coast.

Yeah, you'l need the low range output gear from a 1.3l transfer for all of the LROR gears aside from the 6.5s. Plenty of AZers should have one of these kicking around from when they pulled them out to put 6.5s in.

All 1.3l leafy gearsets are the same. Only difference is the very late model ones had the stronger front output shaft.

I'd just rebuild the 1l case you've got with gears. There's hardly any point in spending the extra money on getting another transfer.

Where and how much was the rebuild kit without adding gears? Seems going price is $400 for the transfer rebuild.
