Hi all,

Just been told by ARB dealer that they don't make Safari snorkel for the 1997 Sierra. Apparently cuts off at Dec '96? Anyone recommend another supplier and a place in Sydney that would fit it? Same goes for a lift.

Apparently Sierra had a face lift (including different shocks?) and forgot to tell ARB.

Yeah you will find yours is a coily with the nicer more rounded front. Very few manufactures bothered making stuff for the coil Sierra as they were only on the market a couple of years.

Some leafy parts do fit. Have a squiz thru some build threads to get some inspiration.

A snorkel on a Sierra is a pretty pointless exercise anyhow (the distributor is afraid of water), but there are plenty of Coilies with snorkels fitted. ARB's average fitter doesn't have either the expertise or knowledge to make anything fit but it can be done.

Sierra intakes aren't vulnerable to water ingress. Electrical breakdown will stop progress well before water can get into the intake.

Fit one if you really want, but snorkels on sierras edge close to roof lights and high lift jacks to me.

Its just a listing error, the safari pre 1996 will fit. The only issue is the rh guard flasher has to be moved. Here is a safari knock off one fitted to a 1996-1999. It even bolted straight up to the airbox with the hose and clamps they supply.

Thanks to all for your replies. Coily96 it appears you're correct - I called the head office and they confirmed.

Now just have to work out if / should I get a lift done...

no problem, though me personally Id get the TJM because there you don't have to remove the indicator where with the safari you do
