I am running a twin locked N/T sierra with 31's and am sick of not having a usable handbrake when in the high country. I rebuilt the transfer drum brake and it was useless so replaced it with a Spidertrax disc unit which is no better so am playing with the idea of fitting a line locker and am wondering how to go about it.
Does any body have opinions about them and know how to set one up?

A line locker works on your existing brakes so is only as good as your existing brakes, so fix your brakes first and the line locker will work well.

?? He is using the transfer handbrake.

I have done the 4 wheel disc conversion so my wheel brakes are excellent and I did replace new shoes and Machined the drum prior to fitting the disc handbrake.

Then a line lock should work well then. I've got cutting brakes which are basically manual line locks and had to run all new lines into and out of the cab. 31zook may have some picks of how he did his in his build thread, I think he used electric ones.

I used elec line locks in mine for cutting brakes, they work, but probably not as well as they should. Like I wouldn't trust it to hold me on a hill...

Before Tcase disk brake conversions, people would pull their drum off the Tcase and take to it with a dremel/burring tool and rough it up. Aslong as it was only ever engaged when you were stoped it workes really well. But it will rip your pads to shreads if its engaged while driving haha

I have a bad habit of driving off with the brake engaged because it doesn't work worth a damn and the drum brake has gone to god so I have to either make the spidertrax work or go to a line locker. I want something that will HOLD on a hill.

I love my line lock, but it's not a park brake.

I have a manual line lock, it works, wouldn't trust it all that much, on steep hill in the bush I'll still back up to a tree or big rock
